hplip does not work with LaserJet Pro mf177fw

I tried versions 3.15.2, then 3.15.9, and then 3.15.6, and none seem to work for me on Ubuntu 14.04 with my HP LaserJet Pro mf177fw.

It seems to install OK and even connect to my printer and downloads the drivers, but it falsely tells me it has started my print job and that my print job has completed, over and over. It also tells me "Device communication error (5012)".

I will run some checks and post.

Hi,

Can you try installing the latest hplip 3.15.11. You can download the package hplip-3.15.11.run file from here http://hplipopensource.com/hplip-web/gethplip.html.

Run command 'sh hplip-3.15.11.run' in terminal to install the package.
Run command 'hp-setup' to configure the printer. During configure it will ask to install the plugin files required for this printer. Please to do install the plugin files.

If the issue still remains same provide us the output of 'hp-check' command.
