HPLIP "Install required plugin" crashes reporting checksum error

Bug Description

My M276nw won't scan over WiFi. HPLIP is installed but "Install required plugin" (and, if it is required, why is it not included in the package?) crashes reporting that the checksum does not match the download. Stuck until this is fixed. hp-doctor hits the same error. It also seems to claim that LinuxMint 17.2 is unsupported by HPLIP. Really? Why's that a good idea?

Can you try running command 'hp-plugin' to install the plugin files.
If you are seeing the same error, provide us the output of 'hp-plugin -i -g' here.

Thanks Goutam,

I found the plugin [hplip-3.15.2-plugin.run] on 31/7 downloadable from
another location, downloaded it without its asc, and pointed "Install
required plugin" to the file location instead of direct from HP repository.
Unable to check the checksum, the utility offered to install it anyway,
which worked fine. Thanks for the info though.

Warmest regards,

Donal
