Bug Description

Hi,

unfortunately printer plugin fails when using hp-setup or hp-plugin:

HP Linux Imaging and Printing System (ver. 3.15.7)
Plugin Download and Install Utility ver. 2.1

Checking for network connection...
Downloading plug-in from: None
error: Plugin download failed with error code = 8
error: file does not match its checksum. File may have been corrupted or alteredn

It might relate to SF statement on http://hplip.sf.net/plugin.conf:
The sourceforge.net website is temporarily in static offline mode.
Only a very limited set of project pages are available until the main website returns to service.

What alternative webserver can be used to download the appropriate plugin?

Kind Regards, D

Sourceforge site is down for some reason and unfortunately hp-plugin utility is not able to fetch the plugin.conf from sorceforge site.
Can you directly download the plugin files from here:
https://www.openprinting.org/download/printdriver/auxfiles/HP/plugins/hplip-3.15.7-plugin.run
https://www.openprinting.org/download/printdriver/auxfiles/HP/plugins/hplip-3.15.7-plugin.run.asc

To install the plugin file you can run command 'sh hplip-3.15.7-plugin.run' in terminal or you can run command 'hp-plugin' in terminal and choose the second option to manually select the hplip-3.15.7-plugin.run file and install.

Run command 'hp-setup' to configure the print queue.

This error has re-occurred each time I have a software update from HP. Each time I have to tediously uninstall and reinstall the drivers. It's a shame that the Linux crowd gets so little support in comparison to Apple and MS.
