Can you tell us which distribution you are using and how you changed to python3.X from default python 2.X on distributions

I am using ARCH LINUX.32 bit.with kernel 3.9.5-1

uname -a

Linux 3.9.5-1-ARCH #1 SMP PREEMPT Sat Jun 8 10:10:57 CEST 2013 i686 GNU/Linux

ARCH LINUX went to python 3 on October, 18, 2010.

If I could make hplip access /usr/bin/python2 instead of /usr/biin/python which points to /usr/bin/python3 it would work.

Here i the announcement that python changed from a few years ago.

Python is now Python 3

2010-10-18 - Allan McRae

A major Python update has just been moved from the testing repositories and will be available on a mirror near you. The default "python" package is now for the 3.x series while the 2.x series has been moved to a "python2" package, with python-2.7 having been scheduled to be the last major release in the python-2.x series.

Since /usr/bin/python will now point to the 3.x binary, any program requiring 2.x needs to point to /usr/bin/python2 instead. All our packages have been updated accordingly, but any remaining issues found can be reported to the bug tracker (not the forums or mailing lists).

Ping.

Hi, is there any update with Python3 support?
Fedora will switch to Python3 as default Python and hplip is one of the packages
shipped with LIVECD which needs to work with Python3.

I do not know about Fedora, but hplip has been updated because it's working
in Arch with Python3 also gscan2pdf is working under Python3 in Arch.

That's weird, David, looking at the hplip package in Arch [0] it still seems to be using Python 2, am I missing something here?
