Bug Description

I cannot print. My Officejet 8600 installs over network OK, but cannot print. I get "communication error" messages from printer, but the strange thing is that I can set up the printer, delete it, set it up again.

The Output of hp-check can be found here: http://pastebin.com/gGvdUQ7H

When printing from CUPS page I get this when I first print a test page then I use Ctrl-P to print the browser page of the CUPS Administration page.

I have tried all I can think of to fix this.

Hi David,

Provide us log file by running "hp-logcapture" command in the terminal

$ su -c 'hp-logcapture'

--> this will generate hplip_troubleshoot_logs.tar.gz file same folder, send us the same to analyse further.

Thanks & Regards,
Amarnath

Hi,

hp-log capture issue is fixed in HPLIP-3.13.6 So please download and install the latest HPLIP release from:
http://hplipopensource.com/hplip-web/install/install/index.html (automatic installer) or
http://hplipopensource.com/hplip-web/install/manual/index.html (manual installation, if automatic installer does not work)

=> Reconfigure print queue with the commands in the terminal mentioned below.
       => system-config-printer (remove all print queues)
      => su -c "hp-plugin"
             or
      => sudo hp-plugin (This will download right plugin)
       => hp-setup (It should not be run in a root mode. This command is adding print queue, make sure you select ppd name having "-ps" or "hpcups" substring)
=>Try printing now.

Run following command to capture the logs and send the logs.

$su -c "hp-logcapture"
