auto-refresh not working in Device Manager

Bug Description

I have an HP Officejet 6700.

Printing is working fine, but in Device Manager, I find that auto-refresh doesn't seem to work, when viewing "Printer Control".

The manual Refresh button on that tab works fine, but the view of the queue etc will not refresh automatically.

I have auto-refresh enabled, set to 10s, in Prefs.

This is on Debian unstable, hplip versiopn 3.12.6-3

hp-check is appended; it mentioned missing dependencies, but since this is a Debian install, and Debian's pkg manager is not aware of any missing dependencies for my system, I assume this is a mistake?

thanks much indeed.

regards,
calum.

Note: hp-check can be run in three modes:
1. Compile-time check mode (-c or --compile): Use this mode before compiling the
HPLIP supplied tarball (.tar.gz or .run) to determine if the proper dependencies
are installed to successfully compile HPLIP.
2. Run-time check mode (-r or --run): Use this mode to determine if a distro
supplied package (.deb, .rpm, etc) or an already built HPLIP supplied tarball
has the proper dependencies installed to successfully run.
3. Both compile- and run-time check mode (-b or --both) (Default): This mode
will check both of the above cases (both compile- and run-time dependencies).

Check types:
a. EXTERNALDEP - External Dependencies
b. GENERALDEP - General Dependencies (required both at compile and run time)
c. COMPILEDEP - Compile time Dependencies
d. [All are run-time checks]

Hi Calum Mackay,

Currently auto-refresh is not yet supported in Device Manager.
Regarding the missing packages, hp-check checks for both libraries and devel packages. From above log, missing packages are devel packages and these devel packages are required during installation HPLIP. It is advisable to install the all missing packages.

Thanks & Regards,
Amarnath
