3.12.10a,hp-systray, scanner buttons does not launch any software

hp Laserjet 1220 usb printer-scanner (postscript+ 64 MB and more)

scanner buttons does not launch any software

in hp-systray settings :
- "monitor button presses on devices" is in grey
- "devices to monitor" is in grey and the list is empty

there are 2 buttons on scanner :
- one to scan
- one to make copies

there is a software to scan and there is "/usr/bin/xsane -V %SANE_URI%" in scan field in "configure what commands to run for device action"

Hi promeneur,

In hp-systray, there are no scan or copy buttons.
If you like to know how to scan, please run "xsane" command in terminal. or you can run "hp-toolbox", select the device corresponding queue and click on "scan".

If you question is something else. please explain more.

i speak about the button on the scanner part of my printer-scanner

yes i know

the standard way to work with MS windows :
- press the copy button of the scanner then the software to make copy is launched
- press the scan button of the scanner then the software to scan is launched

this is not the case with linux+hplip

in hp-systray settings why :
- "monitor button presses on devices" is in grey ?
- "devices to monitor" is in grey and the list is empty ?
