Bug Description
On my SLED11-SP1 32-bit/i586 workstation I run HPLIP 3.12.6 from
http://
I have a HP LaserJet 1020 connected via USB.
When I run hp-plugin for the first time I get:
=======
# ls -l /tmp/hplip*plugin*
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 1845394 Jun 21 00:52 /tmp/hplip-
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 198 Jun 21 00:52 /tmp/hplip-
=======
When I run hp-plugin a second time it seems to ignores
the newest downloaded files and uses the older files instead:
=======
# hp-plugin -i -g
.
.
.

hp-plugin[13145]: debug: Verifying plugin with digital keys: /usr/bin/gpg --no-permission
--verify /tmp/hplip-
=======
In particular the last command should be
=======
/usr/bin/gpg --no-permission
/tmp/hplip-
=======
because I have now those files:
=======
# ls -l /tmp/hplip*plugin*
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 1845394 Jun 21 00:52 /tmp/hplip-
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 1845394 Jun 21 00:52 /tmp/hplip-
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 198 Jun 21 00:52 /tmp/hplip-
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 198 Jun 21 00:52 /tmp/hplip-
=======
I assume that the second hp-plugin run runs /tmp/hplip-
instead of what it had actually downloaded /tmp/hplip-
I think usually is does not matter (i.e. when the older stuff is valid)
but nevertheless I tink it is a bug when hp-plugin does not to work
with the exact files which it had downloaded in its current run.
Hello Johannes,
Thanks for bringing it into our notice. We will work on it and provide a fix in the next release or so.
Thanks,
Sanjay
