Region switching w/ previous endpoint unavailable can cause permanent login failure

Bug Description

Because the region's endpoint is cached in the session prior to completing login successfully, it's possible to end up in a state where a previous endpoint may be in the session but is unreachable, which causes a generic logout-and-try-logging-in-again action... but this will repeatedly fail because the session wasn't cleared. Strange edge case, but quite frustrating.
