Bug Description

if you already have python-mysql installed, the venv cant find it
when you try to pip-install it from inside the venv, the venv cant find /etc.mysql.myconf
so you have to disable the --no-outside-sites flag when you build the venv
then, becuause you get around the nysql issue without actually solving it, you get "could not import settings 'dashboard.settings' (Is it on sys.path?) No modual named dashboard.settings"

installation done on 86_64 ubuntu 11.10

How did you install the OpenStack Dashboard? From apt repo or from source?

from git repo

regarding your question, you would need to add a symlink or a .pth file to include the module into your python path.

that said, you no longer need a database of any sort to run horizon as of a post-diablo commit.
