unable to cancel creating volume

Bug Description
Using the Dashboard there is no way to cancel the creation of a volume.
Deleting the volume results in bug #712979.
Restarting the nova processes doesn't help me out either.
The 20GB volume I've described in bug #712979 still has status 'creating'. It's been this way for the past 4 days now.

It is a bug in nova that prevents being able to delete a volume before it has been assigned a host by the scheduler. There is a merge proposal so it should be in trunk soon. Look at the details of bug 716847 for details on how to remove the zombie volume:
