new horizon inverted tab style is very confusing and ugly

Bug Description
I just noticed the new patch that landed in horizon that changes the look/style of the tabs in horizon.

This new ui is confusing and very ugly. It's very hard to distinguish now which tab is selected as the tab is inverted. This is counter intuitive as compared to any modern UI.
When you have 3 tabs and the middle tab is selected, it now looks like the two outer values are selected.

I agree and find that this new tab style runs counter to everything I can recall seeing before. But it matches the style proposed in the approved blueprint.
