Bug Description

if I want to delete all files under a container or all containers for that matter I cannot do it from horizon.
it would be a good addition to horizon I think if we had a select all button for both files and containers.

I have worked in this problem and I realize that we can add a multiselect checkbox if the table header is included. Can you check my changes in patch?

Gabriel is proposing a solution that forces display the column header of the object's table. This header contains a checkbox that allows to select all the rows of the table.

I think adding the "select all" ability to Containers is likely to cause confusion as non-empty containers cannot be deleted.

Is it good practice to force the user to delete all objects in the container before deleting the container? It seems it would be nicer to warn the user on the delete action of a container that this will automatically delete all "X" objects in this container.

+1 to allowing multi-select of deletion of objects. I think it would be nice to have for containers too, but I'm not sure if the use case is very common for this.

At the moment Swift doesn't allow you to delete a container that contains objects, from Horizon or from the CLI, nothing is automatically deleted as there could be 1000s of objects. You can have a look at bug 1034890 for more information. We could decide to warn the user and delete things ourselves from the Horizon side though we probably would want to be careful about it.

I have just confirmed we can delete a container that contains objects in Swift from CLI. Even we can wipe out all the containers using "swift delete --all". So IMHO we should have the multi-deletion of objects as well as containers. If CLI supports it, lets make it available in Horizon.

But since it is very dangerous practice to do that, we should warn the user before hand.
