I suggest to have the possibility to change the color of future operations in the settings. Because it is not very visual as you said.

Color, especially the default color, could lead to visual difficulties for colorblind people, that's also why I choose a style.

Googling a little about such UI/UX indicate it is easier for people to locate things in a list is with BOTH color AND icons.

Also at last, the dark/light time have to be taken into account, lightness can lead to unclear visual results.
