wish: Combined budget for all categories

I manage my budget by fixing a monthly ceiling for the total amount that I can spend, across all categories. The amount that I spend in a particular category doesn't matter, but the total expenditure in a month should not exceed the specified amount in the budget.

In your application, however, I can set the budget for particular categories or subcategories, not for all categories combined. It will be helpful if I can add a monthly budget for all the categories.

I'd like something like that but not only for "all categories".
I'd like to be able to create a monthly budget and assign multiple categories and/or subcategories or even all categories if needed. Idealy with a checkbox style form.

I think this would be very useful.
Pierre-Louis' idea is good, that way you could make "combined budgets", e.g., grouping a series of categories that one considers "essential" (rent, food, water and electricity bills...) and assigning a budget to them, then create another group of less important categories and do the same, etc.

I have recently started using homebank, and I miss this option. I come from MoneyWiz and Firefly III, in both of them you can create a budget that shows the sum of one or several categories.
I find this option interesting and necessary.
