transaction screen freezes in Ubuntu

Bug Description
I use HomeBank for a long time in Ubuntu (Budgie) and I'm having this problem for a long time as well (many versions).
When I inherit (not sure a new one does as well) a transaction, it opens the transaction window all ok, but it's frozen. Everything I enter there is recorded but is not shown until I alternate to another window and came back to it again.
HomeBank version: 5.5 Running against GTK+ 3.24.25
Ubuntu Budgie version: 21.04

As no other ever reported such thing, and it seem related to a low level thing (a refresh of the dialog) we could suspect it is related to something in your desktop environment, our window manager.
I would suggest you try:
- with another fresh user (to avoid a env variable)
- check if you don't use wayland (as it still unstable), but X11 session
- try another desktop like cinnamon, mate, gnome
- try on a bootable usb distro
- try on another computer
