Bug Description

In Homebank 5.5 (on Fedora 33), I was surprised to discover today that there are these various options controlling the default behavior of some of the reports dialogs:

- Show rate column
- Show details (x2)

From a usability point of view, shouldn't Homebank simply remember what was used the last time, instead of having this buried as options the user must manage manually in the preferences? For a really long time I thought, "It would be nice if I didn't have to open the details pane each time", and it turns out this was governed by an option... I think it would have made more sense for Homebank to simply know that I left the details pane open the last time :)

hesitation here, I already think about this but what for users that do check the preferences, are happy that way, have set their default value and prefer not to persist what they have done during each session.
I keep this open to see if others vote for this.

Changed in homebank:
importance: Undecided → Wishlist
summary: - Should automatically remember the state of the Details pane and Rate
- column in the reports, rather than exposing an option in the
- preferences?
+ wish: persists the latest state of details and rate in statistics report
summary: - wish: persists the latest state of details and rate in statistics report
+ wish: persists the latest state of details and rate button in statistics
+ report

I prefer keep it the way it is : a default behavior, not persisted
In any apps it is natural to set the preferences, or at least review it to see if something needs to be.
