dropbox I/O error for file on save

Bug Description

HomeBank version: 5.2.3
Windows 10
Name: Richard Collins

I keep my homebank file on dropbox and I have dropbox installed on my computer. I am able to open my homebank file and make changes. However, when I try to save the file it gives me a message saying: File error Description says: I/O error for file "path of file". Have tried reinstalling both dropbox software and homebank. I have tried saving as a new file name and I get the same error message. Neither have fixed the issue. Was working fine for several months and then it started happening. If there is a fix I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you.

try to launch with command line, you should have a more precise error

I know how to load up the command prompt on Windows 10 but I don't know what to type to launch the program. Sorry.

Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\HomeBank
then on the path bar (where there is C:\Program Files (x86)\HomeBank
erase all and type cmd + enter
this will prompt the commandine in to C:\Program Files (x86)\HomeBank
the just type HomeBank.exe + enter

I tried your method but I did not get a more detailed error message when I tried to save it. I did find a work around by saving the file under my desktop and then transferring it to my dropbox folder and overriding the original file. I have to do that every time but I can at least save again. Thanks.

unzip it into C:\Program Files (x86)\HomeBank
