Bug Description

Currently it is possible to select if a category is Expense or Income categoruy, I would like to propose to have this option too at sub-category level. This will be useful for example in the budget functionality, in which you can configure Expense/Income budgets.

has there is a hierarchical (and so logical link, I must say no to this.
But this converge towards a co-worker suggestion to have some kind of equity category : so not expense or income, but which should be equal to 0 (or close to) at last like professional fee, or health which can have expense and income.

I did not find such concept on other tool so far (but did not search that much).
So far this info is just used to display some warn and is not really structuring.

My idea was to define for example some subcategory structure like:
- Actions
- Actions/Buy
- Actions/Sell
- Actions/Dividens

In this case some are expenses and some income.

For me, the suggestion makes sense. You can have a category "Housing", with sub-category "Leasing" (income) and "Repairs" (expense).

Until this bug/feature is fixed could you please update the documentation?

Try to set child sub-categories to expense + income leads to strange behaviours without any warning

Change of behaviour implemented.

So now you can have such display:

Expense=ON
myexpense [-]
+ myincome
- mysubexpense

Income=ON
myincome [+]
+ myincome
- mysubexpense
