Bug Description
This one is a little bit tricky. It often happens that I need to split a transaction over several accounts (this is actually what would be called "split transaction" here). For instance, think of an account with only $50 left. I will try to use this to pay for my next transaction, but it happens that this transaction was $80. In this case, I will only pay for part of it with my first account (exactly $50, to bring it down to $0), and the rest would go to another account.
Right now, I'm doing it manually with one transaction on each account, with an amount that matches what I bill to each account, and memo to keep track of it. But doing that, I lose track of the exact bill amount.
The even trickier part is that the transaction could be itself a split transaction (in the HomeBank sense)! In the end, I'm not sure what would be the best way to make this work — I couldn't figure out a correct way myself — so this is really what this is: a wish!
Thanks!
Mathieu
(using HomeBank 5.1.5 in Debian)
a txn split is just a ventilation of amount for a single transaction into a single account.
