It would be great if automatic assessment could process and create account transfers .
I regularly load OFX transactions that that account transfers and memo fields identify them as such. I would like to be able to reflect that properly in homebank

Hi Maxime,

Exactly. These are my sample regular transactions that I import with
QIF/OFX.

*Account* *Date* *Memo* *Amount* Savings (410754956) 19/02/2015 Sweep
out to 210875059 . -$ 100.00 Savings (410754956) 13/02/2015 Regular
Transfer to 100072393 Jan -$ 3,278.12 Checking (210875059)
19/02/2015 Sweep
from 410754956 . $ 100.00 Credit Card (100072393) 13/02/2015 NAB-
UBANK From: MB Ryfko Ref: Jan $ 3,278.12
Note that the memo field contains the bank account number or a comparable
string by which I can pinpoint the account the money is transferred to/from.

So I would like to be able to create a *Assignment* in Homebank that would
create an *Internal Transfer* between the accounts. The trigger for
automatic assignment should be:
1) memo/payee field contains ....(string identifying the account)
2) the amounts match
3) the dates match (the tolerance +/- number of days could be set in
preferences to allow for bank transfer time)
The debit/credit would define the direction of the transfer.

So after I have imported the statements for the 3 accounts in question, and
created assignments for internal transfers, running *Auto Assignments *would
create proper transfer transactions.
That, combined with ease of creation captured in
https://bugs.launchpad.net/homebank/+bug/1418277 would make Homebank on
par with Quicken, MS Money, YNAB, etc.
Thanks for considering it.
Regards,
Marek

no, you mixup what assignment are devoted for (internal xfer should not be a paymode but a different transaction).
and too much complex to guess things, see 692081
