Bug Description

During data entry, (very) often the current transaction is quite similar from the previous, but the program empties almost every field, and I have to rewrite the missing information again.
At least the payment type (debit card, check...) has to be kept because in the 99% of my experience doesn't change: if I write transactions in my Credit Card account, the payment is always [Credit Card].

In my opinion, you could to keep all the fields but not the Amount. The Amount could be cleared.

Ciao e grazie.
Tony.

this is why I created 'Inherit' and templates, doesn't this match?
it is quite sure than during a data entry, you will seize various transactions and not almost quite the same.

I've already tried to use Inherit but after every commit, it comes back to the first transaction.
I've a little problem with my english. I'll try to explain with an example:

In order to simplify, stay focused on Payee:

NEW TRANSACTION:
-> payee empty
-> manually payee changed to UBS BANK
-> COMMIT
-> payee comes back empty
-> manually payee changed to UBS BANK
-> COMMIT
-> payee comes back empty
-> manually payee changed to UBS BANK
and so on

INHERIT TRANSACTION
-> payee UBS BACK (perfect, I've a record for it)
-> COMMIT
-> now I need to change payee to FORD MOTORS for the next (p.e.) five records
-> COMMIT
-> the payee comes back to UBS BANK
-> manually change payee in FORD MOTORS
-> COMMIT
-> the payee comes back to UBS BANK
-> manually change payee in FORD MOTORS
-> COMMIT
-> the payee comes back to UBS BANK
and so on

MY WISH
  the INHERIT procedure is perfect as is.

  the NEW instead:
-> payee empty
-> manually change it to FORD MOTORS
-> COMMIT
-> the amount will set to zero
-> change only the fields that differ
-> COMMIT
-> the amount will set to zero
-> change only the fields that differ
-> COMMIT
-> the amount will set to zero
and so on

I wrote about the payee only, but my example covers every field, except the amount.

Ciao e grazie.
Tony.

So at last, if I add a button [add & keep], that keep all fields but the amount it will suit I guess ?

Perfect! In my opinion this simple change can help the serial data entry.
