Bug Description
For the statistics it is important that one can enter refunds of earlier expenses.
One example: Let's assume I usually travel for 50€/month. In December I buy a train ticket for 200€ and 2 months later I get it refunded by my employer. Now in the statistics I have spent 250€ in December and earned 150€ in February which is not what I want to know/see.
To accomplish this now I have to go change the category of the train ticket to "item in transit" or so. When I give back a product in a supermarket I also would have to split the old amount and change the category of the new one.
In my opinion it would be nice to insert a new entry and somehow select the previous (split) entry which will be (partly) refunded with the new one.
I think the data structure could stay mostly the same, we only needed a new "referenced" column or so for each transaction part (split). It should be able to contain several references to other transaction parts (perhaps someone hands back two articles individually and simultaneously buys some new article at the same day). This coulmn would have to be taken into account when the statistics are calculated (simply add the amount of referenced items).
As UI I can imagine some combobox and drag&drop in the transactions window.
You can mange this tracking (like others already do) with a dedicated account or using a category or tag or a combination of all these.
