Bug Description
We have entertained a few different orderings of the operations we do when we load an image. We need to check that we are:
1) normalizing the hologram correctly to have an average value of 1 to compare to calculated holograms
2) dealing with backgrounds correctly (and dealing with the case where no background is available correctly)
Is the currently implemented method correct?
