PPA build breaks (path determination wrong?)

The PPA build is broken on both utopic and vivid:

It's still not quite clear to me what broke, but what's worrying is the following:

Further down below:

Too many open files: 'content/pages/faq.ro.fr.md'

To me it looks like some part which determines the path names is broken. Maybe now is a good time to fix bug 1434210 as well?
