Timestamp text overlaps icons on some Linux systems

Bug #666809 reported by Keith Hughitt on 2010-10-26

Bug Description

This has to do with the fonts chosen to display the timestamps and surrounding text. A narrow font (Arial) was chosen which is not available on many Linux distributions by default. The solution is style the text such that it displays well regardless of whether the system has a particular font.
