Bug Description

The dulwich library is a native Python implementation of the git on-disk format. It provides a Pythonic "plumbing" interface to git repositories.

I have test builds of the backport in my PPA (https://launchpad.net/~broder/+archive/ubuntu-tests). I've tested that the amd64 builds b/i/r on Hardy, Intrepid, Jaunty, and Karmic. (I tested that they run using the `dulwich log` command)
