I have successfully backported Ardour 2.7.1 to both hardy and intrepid. The packages can be found in my ppa at https://launchpad.net/~khashayar/+archive. I've also built them locally using prevu. Minimal testing shows they work well on my machine.

For the intrepid backport, no change was required.

For hardy, I had to remove the 100_syslibs.patch, since vamp-plugins-sdk is not packaged for hardy. If I'm not mistaken, this is how older ardour packages where compiled on hardy. Also, I had to change one line in SConstruct, in order for the scons to detect soundtouch properly. This change is suggested in a comment in the SConstruct file.

I have test built ardour on both hardy and intrepid, and both i386 and amd64. Khasheyer's debdiff for hardy made the package build successfully, while ardour 2.7 on intrepid built with no issue.

So all clear from my POV.

Hardy backport is sitting in the approval queue (uploaded on the 13th). And the Intrepid one still needs an archive admin to mangle the sources for us, which soon happen soon-ish.

Switching this back to Confirmed as the majority of the backport builds failed, resulting in no binary backport for the majority of architectures.

I have built jack-audio-connection-kit-0.116.1 and ardour-2.7.1 for Hardy with prevu but I'm not sure what I need to do next. Can anyone provide some direction?

I've read https://help.ubuntu.com/community/UbuntuBackports but it is a little vague - "4. If a test build has succeeded, a comment should be added asking for testing feedback. "
