Bug Description
The author of bazaar support for etckeeper has said that using versions lower than 0.15 may result in loss of file permissions information, and recommends using newer versions if possible. Hardy currently only has version 0.14, so would be susceptible to this possibility. Intrepid has version 0.18, while the latest version is 0.21. A new Bazaar API was implemented in version 0.20.
Note that this request is dependent on Bug #268602.
