Hi Steven. We are working on it. We first have to upload Django 1.0 to intrepid and then we will backport to hardy (with some other needed packages).

Changed in hardy-backports:
assignee: nobody → lionel.porcheron
status: New → In Progress

I see that it's been packaged for Intrepid.

python-django (1.0-1ubuntu1) intrepid; urgency=low

  * Merge from Debian (LP: #264191), remaining changes:
    - Run test suite on build.

  [Eddy Mulyono]
  * Update patch to workaround network test case failures.

I was able to build python-django version 1.0.2-1: I'd only to backport jquery (1.2.6-1) and sphinx (0.5-1) without any changes!

Any update on this? The current version of Django in Hardy is 0.96, which is quite old in comparison to modern versions.
