Ping.

Has the backport procedure changed since [1]?

Previously, there would have been (at minimum) more activity on this bug by now and genreally the backport whould have been completed.

Just wondering.

For backports, confirmed means its been tested. Someone needs to verify this builds, installs, and runs before we can do the backport.

virtualbox-ose requires yasm <= 0.7 which isn't available in hardy. It might build against the version in hardy, or a backport of yasm may be required.

Marking incomplete.

May we please have some more info about why this bug is marked incomplete, as the description of that state says :

INCOMPLETE: A package requested is not currently in Ubuntu repositories but is expected to be in the future. Also packages that were abandoned during testing phase.

So which reason followed to this status?

If the package was abandoned during the test phase, what were the problems?

I ran a rdepends check on yasm and there seems to be nothing depending on it :

$apt-cache rdepends yasm
yasm
Reverse Depends:

Of course I'm quite new to Debian-based distros, so this command could be wrong and just check in my installed packages. If that's the reason, I apology.

It looks like this bug requests a backport from Ubuntu 8.10 (Intrepid
Ibex). However, as Intrepid is no longer supported, such a backport is
no longer possible.

This bug is being set to "Won't Fix". If you would still like to move
forward with this backport request, please re-open the bug and adjust
it to request a backport from a current release.
