unity-lens-gwibber doesn't contain any info unless compiz crashes

unity-lens-gwibber doesn't contain any info and quicklists show nothing but gwibber unless compiz crashes. Post compiz crash everything is fill and the quicklist show as expected.

I'm assuming this is actually an issue with compiz. It shows up everytime there is a new version installed.

Are there ant logs anywhere that would be useful to you guys?

This should have been fixed in 0.0.3 which I uploaded earlier today. Please re-open if you continue to see this.

This still seems to be an issue.

My update to 0.0.3-ubuntu1 this morning blanked it again and I now see nothing and the quicklist is back to only showing gwibber.

OK, there must still be a race condition somewhere. I haven't reproduced it though. Try running "setsid unity" in a terminal, does it start working then?

Ken yeap that triggered it to all appear again.

Ken only issue now is each time I reboot I need to trigger the setsid unity each time to get anything to show up in the gwibber lens again :(

Read about this on a blog somewhere, so I tried it out, and I encountered this bug as well (minus the compiz crash, since it hadn't crashed for me). I ran setsid unity which triggered a compiz crash, but now the lens works.

I noticed that the menu in the upper right hadn't appeared until after the fix. I could type in the search bar but the lens was blank. Hope this helps you narrow it down.

this is also an issue with a fresh installation from the gwibber-team ppa doesn't seem to have something to do with compiz-crash

I experience exactly the same symptoms as Micheal. I hope that you manage to track this issue down, this lens is (will be) perfect for me.

I have no idea why but the Lens has started working for me, no need to trigger setsid unity when I login. I haven't installed / updated anything. The only thing that I did differently was to run 'setsid unity' then once the Lens was working I clicked on one of the posts (something I hadn't done before) which opened my browser. Everytime I restart my pc the Lens works perfectly now. I doubt that clicking on a post did anything to resolve this for me but I can't think of anything else that I did differently.

I've just had this on a fresh upgrade from ubuntu 11.10 to 12.04 the setsid unity fixed as described above.
