Bug Description

It would be helpful to be able to see the conversation "thread" of a message, if available. I know, for Twitter this can be done by looking at the in_reply_to_status_id. I don't know how this applies to all services, but it would be great if it could be implemented for services that provide this information.

Here is an example of this feature in Echofon: http://smokingapples.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/09/echofon-conversation-thread.jpg

re-implemented for 2.30 :(

@sil had implemented this back in 1.2, but during the re-factoring that went into 2.0 it was dropped inadvertently. He has graciously agreed to take a look at it again.

In parallel to this : now in Gwibber, for Identica / StatusNet account, when a message is an answer to someone, we see under the text "in answer to" (in small grey characters) and the pseudo to which poster answers.

If we click the pseudo, a page opens in default browser to the message posted by him on Identica.

But it would be great, if possible, to go directly to the whole thread / conversation.

In the identica page, in the bottom, we have a link "in context", and click on it leads to the entire discussion.

Ex : on Gwibber if I click on stevenrosenberg pseudo, it opens on my browser :

https://identi.ca/notice/80757628

I'd like it opens directly http://identi.ca/conversation/78140259#notice-80757628

I don't know if there is in the message (headers) a reference in the N° of discussion (here 78140259) that would allow to modify Gwibber opened link to include it and go to the whole thread directly.

Conversation thread could be shown as Facebook comments in Gwibber (with more than 2 displayed), with an arrow to click in order to deploy whole discussion under the post.
