Bug Description

There is currently no easy way to backup the account details for Gwibber. It would be nice to be able to export these in some way, for example to a XML file so that they can be imported at a later date.

I would really like this feature. For RSS feeds allow the import/export of opml files. Although this mean people could be importing 100s of feeds some people do use it for that reason.

For accounts an xml file, without passwords stored in, would be great!

Yes, import/export should be supported in the UI. For now, you can do it with gconf at the command line:

gconftool-2 --dump "/apps/gwibber" > gwibberconfig.xml

gconftool-2 --load gwibberconfig.xml

Changed in gwibber:
importance: Undecided → Wishlist
status: New → Confirmed
summary: - It is not easy to backup account details.

Thanks Ryan, but at least in Lucid, using your command gives an XML-file which only contains information about "autostart" and "sidebar". Unfortunately, no account-information are included.

Is there an update to your command that extracts my accounts?
