Bug Description

it'd be just terrific if I could set hotkeys to post to one or more accounts, e.g.:

Windows-F: post to facebook only
alt-i: post to my identi.ca and and twitter accounts (ok, i already cross post via indenti.ca, but i hope the use case is clear)

i'd be plenty happy if there were just a config file somewhere where such advanced features could be controlled, in the manner of a .emacs file.

this is wishlist, obviously. if anyone has a suggestion for hacking something together, i'd be grateful for that as well, pls post suggestions in the bug report.

thanks for an amazing tool.

As I really haven't used any other microblogging application (other than identifox briefly) I'm wondering if and how any other applications do the same thing. Do you have any examples?

The only other client I've used is emacs, in which I wrote a tiny
wrapper function to post the same text to facebook and indenti.ca.

I guess since the accounts are generated on the fly & have unpredictable
unique hashes as names it's a little harderto this in gwibber.

I guess there could be a "send only to this account" hotkey for each
account -- you could set the hotkey in gconf. then make a function in
the base class "send_frome_here_only which the hotkey triggers. I don't
know exactly what the function would need to do -- I guess activate the
typing box, wait for enter, send, reset to the regular prefs.
don't understand the code well enough to write it -- sorry, i'm a crap
coder.

better from my perspective would be the ability to bind keys to send to
an arbitrary set of accounts, and to do that in a python config file.
but it's not obvious to me how one would make that work, either.

thanks again, matt

@Matt: I like your proposal. I think it would be cool to allow users to assign keyboard shortcuts to individual accounts. It would probably not be all that hard to implement leveraging the existing reply system.

This suggestion is good. I hope to see this on the coming development version.
