Bug Description

When attempting to configure the latest code from git as of 2022-03-23, the following error is displayed:

./configure: line 6000: syntax error near unexpected token `0.19.8'
  ./configure: line 6000: `AM_GNU_GETTEXT_VERSION(0.19.8)'

This is on Debian 11 amd64 with autotools and gettext installed.

autogen.sh was run before configure and any missing software packages indicated by error messages were installed.

The git version it's very unstable at the moment!

Try installing the intltool package and let me know if fixes this error.

Thank you. Yes, this solved the problem. Maybe autogen.sh and / or configure can check for intltool and warn the user if it's missing?

Thank you again! :-)
