Bug Description

I'm using Google's 2-step authentication, which allows me to put an application specific password in place of my actual password for other apps. Google Voice Notifier won't allow me to log in with it.

I have the same problem and configuration as Aang. Some poking around revealed that the application is using a deprecated authentication method. When you enter an application-specific password Google returns an error message to the application saying "Please use your account password instead of an application-specific password". If you actually do so, you are required to enter the time-sensitive key from your phone's Authenticator application. Either way, the application is not prepared to respond.

A discussion on Stackoverflow (http://stackoverflow.com/questions/10258509/google-application-specific-password-for-shell-script) suggests that the current, supported approach is to use OAuth2, for which Google offers a python class (gvoice-notifier being a Python script itself): https://developers.google.com/api-client-library/python/guide/aaa_oauth

Unfortunately I do not have the time to incorporate the code, so I would be grateful if someone can pick up the baton.
