gufw does nothing

invoking gufw (checked both versions 14.04.0 and 14.04.1) on Ubuntu 13.10 amd64 does nothing and exits with exit code 0 (root privileges are acquired with polkit) (see attached file for output of strace gufw).

Hi! :) Could you purge gufw and reinstall, please?
sudo apt-get purge gufw ; sudo apt-get install gufw
Then put here the dump from shell:
gufw

I installed it from sources (after uninstalling the Ubuntu repo version 13.10.2-0ubuntu1), because 14.04.0 is not in the repo. Worth it to install a 14.04 beta image?
