Bug Description

If I have a track already playing when I download a cover (using the cover browser), then the cover image doesn't update in the player controls area. Even if I switch to another song in the player playlist and switch back to the same song, the cover image remains unchanged. The only way to get the new cover to show up is if I remove the track from the playlist and add it back in.

I updated to 1430 and it seems only partially fixed. This may get a bit lengthy because I'm going to walk through a number of different places and ways the cover can be changed.

If you're in the Library view and right-click on the album listing for the currently playing song then select Download Album cover (or Delete Album cover), then everything works fine and the album cover is immediately updated in the player controls area. Unfortunately, there's at least a couple other ways to change the cover image for the song.

Also in the Library view and right-clicking on the album listing, but instead select "Select cover location". This method will update the cover shown next to the Album listing, but not in the player controls area.

If you're in the Browser view and right-click on the album for the currently playing song then select Download Album cover (or Delete Album cover), then the image for the currently playing song does *not* update. Now, unlike before, if you switch to another song in the Player Playlist then switch back to the song whose cover you just changed, it will show the new cover.

Another way that the cover can be changed is by right-clicking on the track that is currently playing (either in the Library frame or in the Player Playlist) and selecting Edit Songs, then move to the Pictures tab. From there, select either "Add a picture from a file..." or "Search the album cover". Once you select a cover and add it, then hit OK to close the Song Editor window. Changing the cover this way does *not* immediately update the image shown for the currently playing song. Nor does it update the cover shown in the Album listing in the Library view until you update the library (via "Library" then "Update Library").

I have commited a patch that fix most of the issues you describe. Its missing now update the cover panel window when you embed the cover art into files. All the rest should work fine.
