Bug Description

[Impact]
 - It is hard searching for aprinter from a large (2500) list of printer. Currently, gtk filter is possible by fitering by "Printer Name" although for this feature is not enough since filter by location works better.

[Test Case]
 * Setup a system with large no of printer
 * Open text editor (gedit), and click on print
 * Start typing location

Actual result:
  - Can't search by location

Expected result:
  - Ability to search by location

[Regression Potential]
 * This is a backport of upstream code. I do

[Other Info]

This bug was fixed in the package gtk+3.0 - 3.10.7-0ubuntu1

---------------
gtk+3.0 (3.10.7-0ubuntu1) trusty; urgency=medium

  * New upstream version
  * debian/patches/git_search_printer_location.patch:
    - Enable search through locations in printers list (lp: #1188571)
  * debian/patches/testsuite-ppc64el-failure.patch:
    - dropped, the changes are in the new version

  [ Iain Lane ]
  * Override the default for org.gtk.Settings.FileChooser startup-mode to
    start file choosers in the working directory (defaulting to the home
    directory) by default, instead of 'Recent Files', which has proved
    unpopular with users. (LP: #959505)
  * Make a writable directory for the testsuite to use during the build -
    fixes failure in `make check' if home dir can't be written to.

I've sponsored the SRU updates, could you make the bug SRU compliant (impact, test case, regression potental)?

So gtk+3.0 | 3.4.2-0ubuntu0.7 is already in updates, we need to re-do the debdiff against this version and re-sponsor it.
Ritesh, please update the patch for gtk+3.0 and let me know.

The verification of the Stable Release Update for gtk+3.0 has completed successfully and the package has now been released to -updates. Subsequently, the Ubuntu Stable Release Updates Team is being unsubscribed and will not receive messages about this bug report. In the event that you encounter a regression using the package from -updates please report a new bug using ubuntu-bug and tag the bug report regression-update so we can easily find any regresssions.
