Bug Description

In calibre you can make complex selection using tags. You can say that the current list should include or exclude the tags.

It would be nice to implement such a mechanism in gtg so you can quickly find tasks are marked "less than two minute" and "music", but not with "boring action you have to do anyway", for example.

You may want to look calibre documentation : http://manual.calibre-ebook.com/gui.html

But testing it will give you a better idea of how it works in calibre. Note : I don't mean gtg should use the same interface implementation.

If you use GTG 0.2.9 or newer, you can do it using search feature. Just type "@a !not @b @c !or @d" in your Quickadd toolbar and select search. This query would result in showing tasks which have tag @a, one of tags @c or @d but don't have tag @b. It is by default saved as a special tag. Does it satisfy your need?
