Bug Description
0.2.4 stated version in program, but Synaptic is showing 0.3. I'm running the daily ppa on Ubuntu 11.04 with Gnome 2. I experienced the same problem running GTG from the stable ppa and from the ubuntu repository (updated hoping for a resolution).

Are you able to reproduce the same problem from the latest trunk? You can test it using these commands:
bzr branch lp:gtg
cd gtg
scripts/debug.sh
In Menu -> Edit -> Backends -> (Add launchpad backend)
I guess this problem was solved by Luca's rewriting a plugin into a backend.
