(Cleaning some old notes of mine)
This was while using GTG 2.4.0 from the daily ppa.
This is a suggestion.
A (sub)task may be ready or not depending on a date attached to it. It would be nice if a (sub)task had some "ready" flag associated to it which the user could toggle, instead of a date.
For a task to be ready, it would require the date constraint to be satisfied, if any, the ready flag to not be turned off, and of course, all subtasks to be themselves ready.

You can't already do that by using tags. Make a tag "non-ready" that cannot appear in the workview.
Also, your need looks a bit too specific to be adressed in GTG itself.
