"Days left" column redundant with "Due date"

The "Days left" column and the "Due date" column show the same information, but in two different ways. The two columns should be combined.

Perhaps it would be more useful to just show a field called "Due" that shows the number of days left if the task is due in less than, say, twenty days, and shows the actual date otherwise. The full date could always be shown in a tooltip.

This bug is not a duplicate of bug 340022. This bug would be solved by getting rid of either of the two columns. Bug 340022 will not be solved until there is a by-date grouping on the main listing -- something I'm not actually interested in.

Bug 340022 prescribes a particular solution, this bug simply reports the problem: there are two columns that communicate the same information.

I agree with you, it's not the same. I like your suggestion, we should test that. Maybe the title of this bug should also be changed to reflect more precisely your suggestion and direct the discussion towards it.

I personally prefer to have bugs describe the problem, rather than
suggested solutions since it helps other users when filing bugs. In
this case though, whatever makes GTG better is fine by me :)

A recent merge has replaced the "day left" column by a "start date" column. However, the "due date" column could still be improved using the behavior suggested in this bug description.

I believe we should fix this quickly as this is currently a feature regression if you cannot see how many days are left.
