typing slow in new task window

Bug Description
I'm running 0.1.2 on Ubuntu Jaunty.
Typing in the "new task" window is extremely slow on the first "blue" line that shows in the main task list.
I can easily get ahead of the display and it feels very unpleasant getting slow feedback for something basic like typing.
