Changes in date don't register with tasks

Bug Description
The dates set for tasks (e.g. start date: today) don't change as time progresses on the main task list. Not sure if I am failing to refresh the list somehow or what to do? Several tasks are acting in this manner. The same problem arises with the due date as well by not changing the days left.
