Menu only boots up first item after time expires

i installed it three times and get the same problems.

1. the MENU on bootup does NOT respond to keyboard or mouse.
    it WILL boot up the first menu item: linuxmint after the
    selected amount of time.
2. it will NOT let me select any other item on the menu.

3. I uninstalled and re-installed in the terminal:

    sudo apt install grub-customizer....which i guess installs
    the latest version. which does not work.

I would appreciate some help with this.

ok, my bad....i finally figured out the problem and it was my logitech wireless keyboard.

i changed keyboards and it now boots up fine. no problems.
