If not, then I'll need your /boot/grub/grub.cfg

Hi Daniel, no, not the same. I found that this only occurs on some
pictures, but not all.

I thought maybe the size of the pic's ?? or the X and Y settings?

but I changed the settings of the bad pic to be the same as others that
work...but still won't

show up on the menu.

attached is file you requested.

Oh, sry. I said wrong.

I need your /boot/grub/grub.cfg.new instead of grub.cfg (grub.cfg has no errors)

Hmm ok, it's similar to images containing spaces. The pathes are not quoted correctly by the grub scripts (/etc/grub.d/00_header in this case). This produces errors like this and also could do any type of syntax error or even bad behaviour if resulting syntax is valid.

I should file a bug at the grub developers…

Your solution: rename the image (remove the &)!

Hi Daniel !
Hooray ! I did the following per your solution:
1. I renamed the file to "Waiting".
2. changed the file type from JPG to PNG.
3. Changed the font color to Lt. Green.
4 Changed the Directory to Downloads.

Now the darn thing works fine !
Moved the file "Waiting.png" back to Pictures and Still works fine.

thanks very much for your solution and guidance.
