Customizer won't apply colors/background image on Ubuntu 12.10 Quantal. Also upon reboot a purple splash screen is shown all the way through booting and fails to disappear when the display manager loads forcing me to reboot.

Bug Description

Upon applying a theme with the customizer (using a .png backgroung image) and rebooting the same colors are shown as before in the boot screen. Furthermore after continuing through the boot process a purple splashscreen appears and fails to disappear even after the login sound is played and lightdm is loaded. This can be undone by hitting escape within the first few seconds of booting.

I get this also on three machines I have upgraded from 12:04 to 12:10, a mix of 32-bit and 64-bit. I have also raised as a thread on Ubuntu Forums....

Hardware a mix of AMD and Intel and nVidea.

Grub-Customizer appears to break with GRUB 2.0 on Quantal. I found I was able to manually edit mine just fine. The problem could theoretically just have to do with the fact that the customizer adds lines to a preconfigured grub.conf file instead of wiping it first thus creating conflicts.

I have an issue with it messing with grub as well, my splash screen is no longer at full resolution and boot script superimposes. Same on shutdown.
Made an attempt to reinstall the splash screen resulted in no splash, but just the cursor. What values can I restore to the grub.conf file that can fix it?

OR can I wipe it and update it again?

Sorry for the late answer. Seems like launchpad changed bug notification :-(

Please try the current version and tell me whether the problem is there too.
