Bug Description
When installing using eggbasket, you'd expect installation not to be affected much by the size of the individual tarballs, but it appears to be. Especially the installation of something like zope.app.twisted, 7 megs big as a tgz is slow.
While the network traffic during installation with eggbasket looks minimal, there is *some* network traffic.
One speculation is that it's checking the md5 sum of the downloaded file and that this is slower the bigger the file is. The small network access might be explained as is fetches the md5 sum from the network? We don't really know.

In grokproject 2.1 we don't use the eggbasket stuff anymore.
